More About Us.
According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, more than two-thirds (68%) of women released in the United States had been arrested for a new crime within five years. Sullivan County, Tennessee, however, is far above the national average at nearly 80%. An inmate in Sullivan County costs 25,000 taxpayer dollars annually. Clearly there is disconnect from the rehabilitation that takes place in the penal system to that of the outside world. That’s where we come in.
Bristol Recovery Road for Women is a faith based addiction and transition program for women from area jails and prisons. Our program begins with our clients’ nine-month stay in our residential program. During this time, the clients are supervised 24 hours a day and receive assistance from our staff and volunteers. Transportation is provided for our clients to Narcotics Anonymous, Alcoholics Anonymous, faith-based recovery programs and daily or weekly psychological counseling in group and individual formats. Food and clothing is provided through partnerships with area agencies, churches and other organizations as well as individual donations. Upon completion of this program, our clients participate in a three-month outreach program in which they continue to receive support from our team.
Bristol Recovery Road for Women seeks funding from individual and corporate donations, churches, grants and partnerships with area agencies. Our funding provides basic needs to our clients such as upkeep of our house, clothing, utilities and transportation to and from daily errands.
Our clients spend nine of the twelve months in our program as residents of the BRRW house.
Our clients spend three of their twelve months in our program in our after care program continuing to receive support after moving out of the house
Our program is faith-based. Recovery through Him is our mission.
